Privacy

Cancellations
Please give as much notice as possible if you cannot meet your appointment. Please note that, for whatever reason, you cancel, shorten, or fail to attend a pre-arranged lesson with less than 24 hours notice you will be liable for full payment for the length of the agreed lesson. Where the pupil fails to attend a pre-arranged lesson, the instructor will wait a maximum of 15 minutes before leaving. This will be then classed as a ‘no show’ and the pupil will be liable for a fee which will equal the lesson price. If due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to cancel a lesson I will offer you an alternative time that is convenient for you.
The Official Driving Test
Except in exceptional circumstances, the car used for instruction will be made available for the practical test. I will ensure that it meets all current test vehicle requirements at the time it is presented for test. It is your responsibility to ensure that you present yourself for test with the necessary documents, and be able to read a number plate at the statutory distance. I will, however, help and advise with these requirements. Miller’s School of Motoring will not be responsible for a late arrival for a test, or for missing a test appointment and cannot be held liable for any consequential costs due to vehicle light failure during any test. However, all lights will be checked by you and your instructor during the pre-test lesson.
The Driving Standards Agency considers driving instructors responsible for presenting pupils who are ready for the test. When readiness is doubtful, I will be happy to re-arrange the test date, but if this is not acceptable to you, I reserve the right to withhold the school car for the booked test date. I will not do so without sufficient notice for re-scheduling the test without forfeiting the DSA test fee.
Please note: The test fee you pay when you book your test is payable to the DSA. It is separate from, and in addition to, the fee payable to Miller’s School of Motoring for the pre-test preparation, an hour before your test appointment, and the use of the car for taking the test. Practical test appointment fee payable to Miller’s school of Motoring is usually 2 hours ~ £40, however for anyone taking an extended test or living some distance away from the test centre this may be 2.5 hours or £50
Health Declaration
Please always ensure you are safe and fit to drive. You must not be suffering from any medical conditions that prevent you from driving, and you should inform me at the earliest opportunity of any changes to health or eyesight which might affect your entitlement to drive. I reserve the right to refuse to undertake a lesson if I feel that you are unfit to drive due to ill health, alcohol or drug-related conditions. In the event full fees for the lesson will be charged.
Please remember that some prescribed medications and over the counter remedies can affect your performance, impair your concentration and cause drowsiness. Alcohol and driving don’t mix. It takes time for the body to break alcohol down and you may still be over the legal limit from a previous nights intake. Please ensure you are always fit to drive.
